Sorry about the news of your Mom.
I hope you find a way to be with her, and share her last days together.

I left my driving job to spend the final days with my Mom.
    She also was 81.

    regards, roadhog

    I Do Appreciate Your,

Condolences RoaDHog, My MoM has been through A lot with Her Battle with this Dreadful Disease, I Live with my Wife & Son in N.Y State & it's A Ways off To Utah and I thought I would even try to Hitch Hike or go to the Truck Stop in Belmont on I-86 & see if someone might give me a Partial ride there, But I do know how people ARE this Day in Age. There Leary to help others, which I can say I do not blame People for being cautious. I 'm A Driver with current NYS CDL-A & current Med Card & I was one that thought it would never happen to my parent's or family,Either! but It did ! So anyone going West OR know Of someone Going WEST  IN the next few Day's or so your consideration Would be Appreciated THX Jon.

If money is an issue try contacting places like the Salvation Army, Catholic charities, etc. They may be able to help with travel expenses.
Finding the right trucking company is like finding the right person to marry. I really comes down to finding one whose BS you can put up with and who can put up wih yours.

    I would Like To,

Thank's RoadHog, UTurn2001 & BanditsCousin for your concern, consideration & Suggestions. one of my current concerns is money due to the fact I'm not Driving @ the moment, But I do have resources & my son is now out of School for Summer. It may not sound logical But It Does cost more to take care of kids in the Summer, entertainment ETC-ETC, Summer clothes & more food & on & On, for growing kid's. & I don't know how long I will be needed to assist my Parent. & to what degree, she may need Me! I did not wan't to resort to asking a Charity for Help, but it is a thought.I'm Heading to S.L.C, Ut. it is my Mom's homebase. Most of My Funds I need to make available for my Wife & Son to live on, if I need to be there long term I'll try to find A local job or what not there in Salt Lake @ some point! And Thanks again, I do appreciate It! 8)
