Default It's too hot for this...

I'll be switching trucks out today. I really don't wanna do it in the 90+ heat. But, then again, the last time I switched out, it was about 30 out and snowing. They couldn't have me switch out when it was 72 out, could they?

Heh - ya. Actually, I'm going back to my old truck.

I originally had an 2002 Volvo 770. They offered (and I accepted) the 2005 Volvo 670 I'm currently in. But, with my knees being crap, I really need to get back into an automatic. The last 6 months has been a killer on me.

So, the driver that was in my old truck got fired and it was just sitting there. I asked if I could have it back and they offered me an automatic Columbia. There's nothing about a Columbia that I like, so I said no - I want the 770 back and I get it ;-)

The only bad thing is how much crap I've got, especially with my computer system. The cables alone that run from the sleeper to the dash are amazing. I've got 20ft cables of each of these: USB, VGA and Audio. Then there's the actual hooking/unhooking of everything and remounting stuff.

Time to buy more double-sided tape.

I have a hard time accepting autoshifts on a 18 wheeler! What year is the Columbia? I would take a Freightliner over a Volvo anyday but then again thats me and the reason I say that is cause I was born and raised around Freightliners mostly FLD's and a Classic XL but Ialso got to drive a Century Class, Columbia, FLD, and Classic XL but in my opinion the best Freightliner ever in production was the FLD series but the Columbia is a CLOSE 2nd as well along with the new Cascadia but it could use a visor. Sorry for hijacking your thread Mal!

You can't even compare a Columbia to a Volvo 770. The size of the interior, the ride, the quietness, the insulation, etc.

I've drove 2 Columbias for a total of maybe 5,000 miles. I was begging to get back into a Volvo.

I never been in a Volvo so I wouldn't really know! But I like Freightliners from personal experiences. But anyway congrats on getting your old truck back, I'm sure if the current one your in now was an autoshift you'd keep it.

Most definitely I'd keep it. Less miles, better looking. But, it's also got 50hp less in power.
