    Default Views on racism

Out of all the words there are in the english language I can't stand the N word especially when refering to blacks! To me the N word doesn't apply to race, to me the N word is an "attitude" word. Me I'm far from an N but you know any race can be an N skin color doesn't have nothing to do with it! I will admit though I do get tired of blacks whenever they see a confederate flag that they are in a racist area. No matter WHERE you go you will ALWAYS encounter racism and honestly I love the confederate flag to me it means southern pride and I'm not afraid to go around wearing a shirt with a confederate flag on it. I'm not into all that saggy pant crap with my pants below my knees thats not me give me a pair of boots some jeans that fit tight around my waist and a plain tshirt and I'm happy! You know I learned alot by traveling on the road, I learned that you'll meet ALOT of interesting and very good people. You also meet some bad people but I've meet more good people than bad people so I'm taking this as a sign the world is changing but you still got the racist idiots and people who prejudge before they get to know them and that is one thing I hate! People around here where I live look at me like I'm crazy cause I sometimes listen to country or rock cause I get tired of listening to rap after awhile, I just grin and wave at them. I get along with ANYONE and another thing I find funny is someone asked me "I never seen a black person wear a racing shirt before" It was a Tony Stewart shirt, yeah I'm a big NASCAR fan and drag racing fan! I told him "well there is a first time for everything!" Also one other thing that really ticks me off is hearing people say that blacks are lazy and don't want to work or are bad people! WRONG WRONG WRONG, no matter what race you are you will have lazy people and bad people! That is pretty much my view on racism, why I decided to start this type of topic, I'm not sure why I just felt like expressing my feelings and talk about something other than trucking for a change. You all be safe out there and God Bless!!! 8)

Have to say I agree with you about N being an attitude and not a color. That's how I was taught! That attitude comes in all colors and both sexes.

Racism, on both sides, is nothing more than ignorance. There is good and bad in all Races, all Nationalities, all Religions, all Humankind. We all should try to see each other as Individuals, and take the time to get to know someone without pre-judging them based on what they look like. I've never understood why that is so hard for some people.

I say this on a side, but 'racism' is a word which is normally misused. Like any other which ends in '-ism', it simply implies the promotion of something, so racism would be the promotion of a race (meaning that organizations such as the NAACP are, indeed, racist organizations), just as... say, Buddhism is the promotion of the spiritual beliefs surrounding a certain deity (Buddha). The correct term to what you're referring to would be bigotry.
Regarding the matter, I've noticed that everybody's a nigger, a ***got, a honkey, a wetback, etc. out on the open road, but we all sit down at the TA or Flying J to watch movies without much issue arising from it. I hear things on the radio all the time which annoy me, but if I went out on a crusade against every moron with a CB mic, I'd never have time for anything else.

One of my best friends is black...as a matter of fact, he looks a lot like an older version of Double L.

Anyway, he made the comment one time that there are n***rs and white trash and both colors have the same issues. There are stupid lowlifes (like KKKers and gang-bangers) that makes the rest of us, regardless of color, look bad.

If only everyone would see racism as a 2 way street. I'm tired of the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton who want it to be a 1 way street all in favor of them. But I also know the same stuff goes on on the other side in the south still. It doesn't make much news but it does happen on both sides. Got to be a 2 way street.

I thought I was the only one who was tired of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. Glad to know I'm not alone!

Well, I did what you said. I grabbed the remote and hit the off button and ran across the street to say hi to the neighbor. He asked if I could come back another time as he was watching TV.

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton do more to hurt the Black Community than anyone else. By perpetuating the belief that they are "owed" something just for being born just reinforces the "slave" mentality, only now the Government is the Master that they expect to take care of them. There are generations that know nothing but Welfare and all you hear from these so-called leaders of the Black community is that their rights are being violated. Reality is that they are the ones cheating the people they pretend to help, they are the ones that are keeping them from getting ahead. They, and people like them, have turned MLK's "Dream" into a Nightmare!

If they truly cared about more than getting their own name in the Press all the time, they would be teaching that with Rights come Responsibilities. And to be given Respect, you first have to have Self-Respect.

When I was a young child I watched my Great Grandmother chase Jesse Jackson out of her store with a broom. He was a neighborhood "hoodlum" who, with his friends would shake down the old people for money. IMHO he's still a thief!

His wife was probably making him watch dancing with the strars or something.

"Reality" TV is just a waste of time and money. I can't stand reality tv! Some shows I do like as long it's funny! I'm more into comedic shows and stuff like the History Channel, Discovery Channel, Speed, and anything automotive or trucking related! Speaking of Speed did any of y'all see the Year One edition of the Black Trans Am Burt Reynolds edition? If you haven't it's nice. It's all 77 except the headlights are one long rectangle instead of the two on each side, has a LS7 pushing out about 600hp, 5spd manual. Man that thing is BADDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!! Supposely they are making it as a production vehicle we can purchase. Back on topic now.

I think some 'reality' shows have some merit. In the aforementioned Dancing With the Stars, you have real competition, people really learning how to perform these elaborate dances.. there actually is something real about it.
Now Survivor on the other hand, is a load of crap.
And History Channel has to be the greatest channel ever conceived.

Racism still exist weather we like it or not .I have talked with many people blacks, whites and immigrants in my community and I can not believe how still divided we are.
It is sad to see how media plays race and gender card in this election and that reflects this issue across USA and shows how this issue is still important
to the people. It shouldn't matter at all to the people ,if somebody is qualified
to run this country let him or her do it.It is simple as that .
Talked to a lot of people about this election and a lot of them are saying America is not ready for women or we are not ready for black president .
Well it is 21st century and if this country is not ready now when it will be :?:
If this country still wants to be a leader of democracy in the world maybe we should start with our own backyard.
I came here 8 years ago to live in peace and prosper ,became Us citizen 3months ago(will be able to vote finally) and overall I am happy
But I still run across people that raise my blood pressure ....

No matter what race you are you'll always be stereotyped. Ya know what I find funny is people at my school tell me I should be driving a car with rims, tinted windows, and a system. I laugh cause that is the dumbest crock of horse **** I heard in my life! Thats like me saying all you truck drivers on here are a bunch of dumb uneducated southern racist rednecks. It's not true! But I drive a 89 Ford with muddin tires on it. Be glad when I get rid of that piece of junk to for a Chevy/GMC pick up. Also what I find funny is they expect me to listen to rap in which I do but they expect me to wear baggy pants with my pants down below my knees. I tell them why in the hell would I want to have my underwear showing to everyone, if I wanted to do that I rather go around naked! Hell they can't talk **** to me cause there are people at my school who are white (no pun intended) who try to act "black" or like a thug and wear their pants down to their knees and I tell them to pull their pants up cause I can't stand that crap. One of my biggest pet peeves is everyone at my school thinks that they are a "gangsta" or some crap like that! My cousin calls me a black redneck, cause well lets see I'm into NASCAR, bull riding, cars, 4wheeling, and stuff like that. Other than that I live my life just like everyone else and where I live some people do give me dirty looks but I blow it off or don't pay attention. All I can say is I'M PROUD OF WHO I AM and WHAT I'VE BECAME and WHAT I WILL BECOME and that is a successful small business owner/truck driver/diesel mechanic!

Oh, I think we're definitely ready for a black or a woman or maybe a black woman president. We're just not ready for someone like Obama or Hitlery.

The idea that either one of those two could be our next president is more than a little scary.

Seriously, this whole election is a crock this year. No matter who we vote for, we're pretty much screwed as a nation.

You took my thunder TF....Exactly my thoughts.
Ill tell you what really caught my attention...about 2days ago, was listening to one of my favorite channels on Sirius. on a Right Wing talk channel...A resently converted to liberatarian/former Indepentent radio host...made the comment that Clinton is problably the most Conservative  between the Dems and Repubs running. This came about after McCain made his resent "Globel Warming" comments....I dang near sprayed coffee all over the windshield.

and to Double L....After reading your post...especially on this topic. You are doing a fine job. Your not caving into peer pressure, and you seem to be quite mature and have a very level head for your age. Best wishes to you on your endeavers.

I grew up in Bozeman, Montana in the late 70's. I think there might have been one black person in town that was attending college. My stepdad was about as redneck as you can get and viewed his opinions openly.

In 1979 I joined the Navy and went to San Diego for boot camp. Talk about a culture shock for me. More blacks and asians than you could shake a stick at.

Now 30 years later, I think racist should take a qualude and just chill.
(ever smoke a qualude before??) Thier bias is just plain ignorance.

My two driving partners are hispanic and they are both great ,hard working family men. One is even a reformed gangster homie.
Our other truck has two black guys that are equaly great.

    (National Anthem Song Playing)
All races have shed thier blood for my freedom and I choose to see the color red and give them the benefit of my respect. I choose to leave the judging to a HIGHER POWER, who am I to judge. Racism is a poison, it will burden your heart with hate and will affect those you THINK you LOVE.
Racism begets Racism. A look in the eyes, a warm smile, a howdy, hello, wus sup, how ya doin can break through the racial barriers and maybe you too can see the color RED!!!!

    PEACE OUT 8) 8)
