Just Thank God that Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson isn't running for President. :shock: What we need is a blue collar middle class man who has morals and won't become greedy and power hungry for President! I had a dream during my nap earlier today that I was president of the U.S. One of the first things I did was get rid of that Patriot Act, then I told the middle east they can keep their oil and I signed a bill building more refineries to get more oil from HERE the U.S. I didn't stop there, I was about to make changes to the trucking industry and get rid of the EPA or something and then I woke up. It's only a dream so saying that would be crazy or stupid wouldn't apply.

Well for past 8 years we have somebody who was born rich ,fed with silver spoon and manage to bankrupt oil company so why he would give a damn about middle class people.

Actually Edwards is endorsing Obama now and I think Obama has the nomination and even the presidency. I remember what the rest of the dream was about now, I knew I left out some other stuff. Another key legistlation I passed was eliminating the HOS and implimenting a "overtime" deal for drivers waiting at the dock after 30 minutes to an hour. It shouldn't take 2-48 hours to unload a 53ft trailer, that is just a waste of everyone's time! I always had an interest in politics and I thought about running but I rather be head of the FMSCA. Then I can start making things much better but then I'll have CRASH and all them groups on my butt. Can't please everyone! Thank ya Drew for the kind words and thank you Nexus for the support. 8)

I don't get into discussions about religion very often. I think Slimland will vouch for that. But I believe that when GOD considers letting you into HEAVEN, he looks at the color of your "SOUL", not the color of your skin. That means that if I judge a person by the color of their skin, be they Asian, Hispanic, or Black, I'm placing myself above GOD. I can not do that. I have to consider everyone to be HUMAN first, and judge them on their own worth as a HUMAN BEING and ignore the color.

Now, back to my own corner..... :wink:

I don't get why I didn't say this sooner, probably cause I didn't think about it. Here is what confuses me say for example a white lady gets raped by a black guy, asian guy, or hispanic guy. Why do they hold a prejudice and become "racist" and hate that entire group because of what ONE person did to them?

Well, on the flip side of that coin, if some ill befalls a black, Hispanic, Asiatic, etc. person at the hands of a white person, why it is always assumed to be racially motivated?

There's a whole lot of issues to work out in this whole race relations matter, and really, I don't think anything's going to be accomplished as long as the whole thing is treated like some circus sideshow, rather than a serious issue which needs addressing, for better or for worse.

I agree Jeff, as for me I don't blame the white man cause well let's face it life isn't fair and you shouldn't blame a race cause of your failures. Blacks say the white man is keeping them from getting a job and that they racial profile and stuff like that! I don't believe it one bit cause your not getting both sides of the story. You know I went down to Speed Co to see if they was hiring. They told me that they and the Blue Beacon wasn't hiring cause of the price of gas and that they were cutting hours. Did I think they just said that cause I was black? Not one bit cause it's true since they don't really see much business cause they just opened the Speed Co and Blue Beacon at the beginning of the year. I don't buy into all that the white man is trying to stop me from making it hogwash. The way I see it is that blacks are still stuck back in the days of slavery and the days before the Civil Rights Act and they think that white people owe them for their suffering! I could say the white man is stopping me from getting a job driving a truck but what would that solve? NOTHING and like I said I don't believe it, you get whatever you put in, if you don't put in you get nothing, if you try to make a better life and succeed you will. Believe it or not I'm enjoying this dicussion and I didn't think I'd get such positive feedback about this subject and honestly I was nervous as all get up to start a topic of this extreme.

Why would you want Slick Willy back in office again when he is the one of the major reasons we are in the middle of this energy crisis? He is the one that vetoed the bill that would have allowed us to drill in ANWR.

Twilight, you are absolutely right. Our 3 choices are all liberal democrats. McCain might be the most liberal of them all. That global warming speech was VERY disturbing. The sad thing is that the Republican Party is moving more and more to the left and they continue to pander to independents and liberals leaving the conservative base disenfranchised. It was sad to see Mike Huckabee telling Dan Abrams that the Republican Party is going to have to move in that direction to win elections. The GOP lost 3 seats in the HOR in special elections in historically republican districts. Two out of the three lost to socially conservative Democrats that may have been argually more conservative than their republican adversaries.

It's sad to see the abandonment of conservative principles in the GOP. There are still some good conservatives in Congress, but they fail to take a strong leadership role.

Maybe a 3rd party should be in order. This "Conservative Party" would have a strict set of principles. Small government, free enterprise, energy independence by drilling and exploring freely within our borders, low taxes. There are other conservative principles I am probably missing, but my point is that many Republican have strayed far from their conservative roots.

Last time I check, which was a while so things could have changed, WE are all members of the SAME Race. Human race. We bleed the same, we have the same structure, organs, tissue, obvioulsy varies by DNA and cellular make up.

We are only seperated by family, your father or mother and their genetic contributions to your features. I take after my grandma on my fathers side, with some things and my own mother on other things.

Honestly if we all had the exact same skin color we would divide ourselves based on other straits physical, or enviromental. example, you didn't grow up in my neighborhood, upper class, lower class etc.

It is an unforutnate reality of the human race, we are flawed. We don't sin and therefore become sinners, We are sinner and therefore we sin. Sure I gonna make this a religious issuse , because it is. period.

Im white as some may know, so I can't know or understand all that my fellow members of the human race that aren't have gone through. I am not callous that their reality of bigitry and hatered by other members of human race have caused them to be suspisious of all whites or whatever the family the offender is from. Only this, do I know, If you have been hurt by people your not alone. People do hurt others, we don't live in a vaccum, I have been equally hurt by people of my own direct family, skin color having nothing to do with it. We can't right every wrong that has been done to us,

Miriam( Mose's sister) didn't like that Mose took a new wife from Ethiopia...As you may know Ethiopia is in Africa, and they have darker skin. Leporicy causes one's skin to be extremely white. She was later healed after a week of uncleanness, But to me it sums up the Lord's thoughts on skin color.

Sorry Double L so long, Answer to the topic, as long as we are imperfect and human there will be those among us that divide and destroy. I am not one of the, Jesus calls for unity, I suppose that's why The movie Remeber the Titans... was such an awesome movie. Not just because Denzel Washington is in it. . The true coach in that movie was a uniter not divider.

I'm not. I am a member of the Trolliak race from the plant Trollololoo. I have purple blood, 18 hearts to support my huge organ(s), and no DNA. I have a PDA, though, and have hired a CPA in the past. You're willing to discuss the issue in a civil manner, rather than sidestepping it, or turning it into a mud flinging contest. If more people were willing to do the same (this applies to all races), then perhaps some matters could get worked out.

My wife is Lakota Sioux and Cherokee, but I never have heard her downgrade anyone because of color, religion or sex....I HAVE seen and heard her get down on people because of stupidity. What does her being Indian have to do with this? According to many, she should be sitting on the Pine Ridge living in a dump with no opportunity to make anything in her life. She is currently working on her 2nd degree in the nursing field.

neither of us can stand anyone hating someone because of their color. We have been known to go off on someone for using the phrase "sand N*****" here, they are using it to describe the local tribes (Apache, Navajo and Hopi being the largest bands).

We both have been wronged by blacks, whites and yellows, but to hate an entire culture because of a select few morons.....thats ignorance at its best. I think everyone should go back to where ever their ancestors came from and leave us alone :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

But if you ask me....that foreign country to Arizona's west is the worst when it comes to hatred......or is that being hated? not sure, need to research that some more.

I vehemently disagree with several positions that the Libertarian Party takes, but they do have it right when it comes to core principles and party unity. They have a set platform that never changes.
