We as Americans agree that the man was right. Now there are a few who don't agree, and try to say that he broke the law in removing a improperly flown flag off American soil. Mostly those who don't support American laws, and are "proud Mexicans" supporting Mexico rights to send illegals over US boarders.

Uncalled for, maybe. However, I'm in a area where this is happening all of the time. And while you may not like my statement dealing with this kind of plague, I'm here with a sprain neck because two drunk Mexicans, now found out to be illegals, don't know how to drive. Many people in the D/FW area are going thru the same.

It is clear, fozzy, that you side with the other who would rather see this country invaded, rather than the Americans who will protect it.

And that, Josh, was WAY over the line.

I don't particularly agree with Fozzy's hardline stance on some things, but a comment like that to a parent that just lost a son in the war, was completely uncalled for.

Well, I would say his hardline stance on things in order to get a rise out of people is particularly need to brought back into the realm of reality. If you going to make comments that can be considered "anti-American" to a few faithful American, I think you can take a little criticism for it.

And as far as losing his son in a war, sorry that it happen. But since we went there, what do you think his son would say about this, being that he gave up his life for his country?

I see your point, T/F.... but this statement CAN be intrerpreted to mean those of the Hispanic Union who are contesting the action of the Veteran. As it is obvious that YOU feel a law was broken, I can't believe Cluggy meant YOU, too! [nor can I believe I'm defending Cluggy! ]

Okay... I agree! But, look at the situation. I'm glad Fozzy is back.... but he DID come out with guns 'ablazin! He's a big boy and KNOWS what he is saying! If you consider the "invasion" only as that of the illegal immigrants, Fozzy IS kinda "siding" with them.

Again, I agree. But, I don't want to have to *****foot around every topic of this type, and curtail MY beliefs or free speech as a result of Fozzy's situation. I am DEEPLY sorry about it..... but, he made the choice to "re-engage." And he did it full force!

I apologize for "debating" you T/F on this topic in full view. I should have PM'd it. But, I wanted my opinion on this heard. EVERYONE here is sorry for Fozzy's loss..... but if he is capable and willing to come back on here and call us all idiots for our beliefs, he will have to take his lumps. I don't know if you'll see it my way or not. You, of course, are the judge and jury. I would hope that we are ALL cognizant of Fozzy's loss, but he is not the only one, I'm sure. I, for one, am trying NOT to get so "personal" in my posts. But, we MUST not allow ourselves to be hobbled by our sympathies. And I don't believe Fozzy would WANT us to!

So if I see a park bench or monument in a public place.. since I'm a veteran, I have free reign to simple take it and destroy it? OK.. I understand now. The next time that I see some Harley rinding moron wearing the American flag as a doo rag or some redneck who has a worn dirty American flag hanging on his pick up, I have the right to take it and destroy it? I do not support illegal activities and thats what this was. I'm also betting that this is not the first incident with this "veteran".

Civil disobedience means that you proudly serve your sentence as a cost of your disobedience.. you make yourself the example.. Then take a look at your homes. The land that you paid for. Because according to them, that land is theirs.

And it's written in English. That means that they already are based in America. They are not coming. They are here, looking into you house. Checking out your land. Thinking about your family. And they are waiting until they can get away with it.

What act? Who's acting? What the Heck are you smoking? And WHICH poster do you refer to? Why can't you come out and NAME those whom you wish to attack? Absolutely NO POSTER on this thread has implied that the GOVERNMENT of Mexico did ANYTHING! Am I gonna have to put YOU in the same "remedial English Comprehension" class as the REV?? NO..... obviously, you DON'T!! There is a difference between public LANDS and MONUMENTS and a Mexican Flag! That monument or bench is owned by the public (and each citizen collectively) and is ENTIRELY different from a Mexican Flag! And public LAND (or a public place) is jointly owned by all citizens AND the United States. Any PUBLIC monument or bench on Public land is jointly owned, and you don't own enough of it to claim it as your own and have no right to even DEFACE it, let alone dispose of it! However, ANY public place or land IS partially owned by you and every citizen, and therefore if ANYONE hoists a foreign flag over it you would have the right to REMOVE it! And as a veteran.... if you remember your oath..... a DUTY to do so!

Ignoring for a moment that you think EVERY "harley rider" is a MORON.... NOPE... you don't! I don't agree with it, but the law allows such a display/use of the American Flag. Maybe not in the case of the "dirty" flag you described on the pickup truck. THAT is against the law. And I doubt a jury in the land, IF they are instructed in the Flag Code, would convict you for destroying it. You would ONLY be following the LAW! A "doo rag" can be considered a permanent article. As long as it is kept clean, it seems to not be against the law. But, NO American flag is supposed to become DIRTY or ragged, without being destroyed properly (the case of the pickup.) And I know of no law that specifies WHO should take on that responsibility.

More importantly, the IMAGE of the American Flag is NOT to be imprinted on such things as napkins, etc., which are considered destined to be "disposable." You really should READ the "code." It is very interesting.

I can appreciate your position on this, Fozzy. But, CITE me the law that he broke! The fact that you "believe" it was illegal does not sway me. I want to read the law (AND all its "exceptions") for myself! And your "suppositions" concerning this Veteran are beneath the dignity of one in YOUR position!
