Default I saw fuel going for.....

I saw fuel in Penryn,CA which is east of Sacramento about 25 miles on 80 going for $4.19 today! It's insane. I bought fuel for my pickup at $3.89 and thought I was getting deal... Times have changed that's for sure. I feel for all you guys that have to pay for your own fuel... ouch.

$3.09 in the Austin area. Don't worry, George Bush's "tax rebate" will save us all.

Traverse City, prices just jumped to an average of $3.35/gal. reg.
    and $3.99/gal. diesel.

    http://www.michigangasprices.com/ind...y&dl=Y&intro=Y

Price for regular gas last week was $3.05.

I heard oil/barrel predictions are to reach $200, before this is over.
Oil per barrel was $30-some just 7 years ago under Clinton.

    It is all politically motivated.
Shocking to think a couple oilmen in the highest office of the land had anything to do with skyrocketing profits in oil companies.

gas prices around the world... http://money.cnn.com/pf/features/lis...ces/price.html

Venezuela, gas is up a whopping 2 cents...now up to 14 cents a gallon.
I wonder if Iraqis are still paying 5 cents per gallon?
Thanks to American's!...Hey...by the way...where is all that return on our investments we were promised???

Georgie Bush just made a comment recently when asked about gas prices at the pump expected to be $4.00/gal by Spring
....and his lame comment was one of shock and bewilderment... "What? I never heard of that.."

Now that is one sorry lying SOB.

makes me glad i sold my car. it was a toyota supra, but still, fuel prices are insane. if i still had it, the insurance on top of it would have driven me to sell it anyway. in a few more months, i'll finally be able to get that insurance discount for no longer being under the age of 25.

i've seen and smelled some bio-diesel trucks at truck stops before. one was backed in next to me at the flying j in tooele, utah. it smelled like french fries being cooked/baked/broiled/whatever in the cooking oil. another time was in late september when i was at the flying j in north platte, nebraska.

We've been hearing diesel's going to hit $1.50/litre by summer, that's roughly $5.85/US gallon! Geezzzz!!! I dunno man...1000$ for a fill really sucks large & with the miles I run, my fuel bill is going to nearly double!

    It's around $13,000/month as it is...ENOUGH already!!

And what really ticks me off is that here in Alberta we are sitting on some of the largest oil & gas reserves in the world & we are paying through the nose for it!

I can see alot of guys losing their trucks this year....

My fuel cost have gone from 38% of my revenue one year ago to 47% this year....

$4.049 for diesel and $3.189 for regular unleaded at the T/A in Greencastle, PA yesterday.

As for it affecting companies, well, a trucking company less than 1/2 mile from my company shut down last week. They've been in business since 1946 and had roughly 40-50 trucks.

I know what you're sayin...the company I am leased onto is considering parking many of their company units.

Driver pay is ALOT higher here & it's getting so they can't afford to run their own trucks & pay their driver's high union wages. They too have been in business since 1946 & have about 100 company trucks.

If it wasn't for the fuel surcharge I would probably be in pretty tough straights too, but we are paid well, but I can see alot of trouble on the horizon.

I consider myself lucky to be where I am. I look at other owner/op's I know I seriously wonder how they are actually earning a living.

Sorry folks, but by the end of summer, fuel prices will be well over $5/gallon, and maybe even over $6/gallon. Not long ago, I said that fuel prices were going to hit $9/gallon by 2014. I was wrong. We'll be there by or before 2010.

Too many of the people on Capitol Hill were born with "SILVER SPOONS" in their mouths. They can't understand what the fuel prices are doing to this country. The "mortgage foreclosures" this past year have only been PREVIEWS OF COMING ATTRACTIONS" In the next couple of years, if the present trend continues, you'll see two and three generations of whole families pitching tents in parks and vacant lots because they can't afford anywhere to live.

But, did you know that ENERGY IS NOT A FACTOR IN YOUR COST OF LIVING

At the risk of getting myself int rouble...

This is something I have been wondering about for sometime now...

We have NAFTA right? Our (Canada's) biggest export to you (US) is oil, we are your #1 supplier of oil...more that Saudi Arabia... Mexico is your #3 supplier.

Why couldn't us three countries get together & form our own oil cartel & screw the Middle East? To my knowledge we don't import any oil, just export it to you guys down south, & there should be enough for all 3 of us to my way of thinking. We could cut the price of oil by 75% & we could all earn a decent living.

Just the musings of a blonde truck driver!

Because then, the "BIG OIL MONEY" would not be making the "big money". I remember when the "ALASKA PIPELINE" went in. They said it would be able to supply all of the US oil needs for the next century. Or words to that effect. Now, we're plagued with OIL TRADING, and that's what's jacking up the prices. The oil from the pipeline is loaded onto ships and sent to China, Canada's oil comes to the US, Venezuela isn't shipping anymore, the guy on the right is on the left, the guy on the left is in the middle, and the guy in the rear burned his driver's license.
