    Default truck abuse

i drive for a small company who leases their trucks anyway last week the netural saftey switch went bad in the transmission and the shop called my company today and said i abused the truck and thats why the switch was bad sounds like b.s. to me anyway i could have made this switch go bad?

by the way the shop who fixed it is also the leasig company and the mechanic who called was one who we had a few not so nice words a few weeks ago about the truck running hot
He who runs behind truck is exhausted, he who runs in front of truck is tired.

Neutral safety? That's not something you have any control of. Unless you have been jamming it into gears with all your force and went over the limits of the switch.

If it was a matter of things torn up in the cab, steering wheel cover peeled off, things like that, I'd agree with him. I don't believe you have any access to that switch.

Call around to other shops, and see what they say about the NSS, if this mechanic is in fact lying, you'll need some support on the situation.

It's my opinion that if a mechanic lies to a customer, they need to be fired, period. When one mechanic lies, it gives everyone in the industry a bad name.
