Go the county court where you were convicted and have them expunged off of your record.

Where are you from..... I'm hiring.....

Seriously though, talk to your perspective employer..... they may give you a break if they know your situation.

Why can't it be??? Are you trying a smaller company that's more of a family type or are you going for a big company where you are only a number and who could careless about your charactor? I have found that smaller companies are more willing to take chances and make allowances.
But you also must make sacrafices like lower pay, at least until you prove yourself.

Some will hire a driver with a felony if it has been at least 5-10 years ago. Some don't hire felons regardless of the time frame. I would say that it depends on what the type and gravity of the conviction. If there is more than a single felony, it could be more difficult. The length of time since you drove will also be a factor. If your driving experience has been in the last 2 or 3 years then it would be better than if it has been much longer. Without recent experience most carriers will require some sort of refresher course. My advice is to check around and ask the companies directly. Each company sets their own policies. There is a company listings section on this forum. Although you are interested in local, there may be some of them who have local or regional needs. I believe all of them list their policy concerning felonies. Keep in mind that even though there is a specific policy, some will bend the rules for the right individual. The main advantage you have is that it has been 16-20 years ago. If you have kept your record clean since, then you have a better chance of finding a good position. Good luck.

Since it has been so long ago, I would think that someone would give you a chance. You will need to explain what happened and demonstrate that you have changed your life. You may get a lot of rejections, but I am sure that someone will give you a chance. All you need is for one of them to say yes.
