You dont have to be a fan of the Opera to appreciate how great the man was. No one had a better or more powerful voice.
Personally, Im not a huge opera fan, however I had the pleasure of seeing 3 Pavarotti shows in my lifetime. All three different dates I took to see the show started out the night assuming they wouldnt like it because its Opera and all three dates were in tears by the end of the night.
Which brings us to the REAL reason men should go see Opera.....To woo women.
I must assume that anyone that can listen to Pavarotti singing Ave Maria and not getting goosebumbs and chills just isnt human.

I will never forget that one time in High School we went to Chicago and saw the Opera Carmen. The regular tenor was sick and Lou decided to fill in out of the goodness of his heart. He was one of the best at what he did.

So, the opra singer that the folks on Fox News are talking about was a dude? :| I thought it was a lady.

I guess he was a popular guy.

this man had an awesome voice .... I guess not to many people pay attention to opera .... but still yet .... he will be missed. I was surprised to find out that he was a school teacher in his early years. May you rest in Peace Luciano Pavarotti ...

I'm already married, and if I tried to drag my wife to the opera, she'd probably either beat me or fall asleep. Probably the latter after doing the former. She's not a high culture girl, my wife. She thinks Johan Sebastian is some singer in some rock band or something.

I've never heard him sing Ave Maria. I don't, as a rule, like opera. Except for the overtures.

I'm more into metal and rock, but I can also enjoy Pavarotti. I would never go to an opera but I don't mind listening to him. Never heard of him till I saw him on SNL once. You never forget his voice.
