I realize that this isn't supposed to be a trucking song but I just love playing "Highway to Hell" particularly when I go into L.A. Although, after going through D.C., Baltimore and Phillie twice in a 24 hour period; L.A. is looking better to me. SIGH!!!

The locals didn't appreciate me playing part of it on the C.B., the last time I was going into Ontario. Someone said you're not from LA. are you? I said, "hell no, Colorado." 8)

I like that hip-hop song about "Tryin' to catch me ridin' dirty" or whatever. It makes me think of the DOT.

"I can't drive 55" is another good one. Damn, who was that, Sammy Hagar?

But I don't really know any trucking songs. I think they're all country, and I never listen to country. Ever.

Yeah, I've got to agree with you Silvan I don't usually listen to Country. However, I don't have XM so if it's a choice between Country or Religion [not Christian so can't stand to hear them preach-yuck!!!], Country's on for as long as I can stand it. Which is usually long enough to sift through my CDs. I usually put in a CD at that point and listen to my favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top [Looking for some Tush], Creed or Nickelback. 8)

When did Eddie Rabbit cover this song? I know the original was done by Dave Dudley and was cover by Swayer Brown and Boxcar Wille and Steve Earle.

    As for favorite trucking song:
Dave Dudley "There aint no easy runs"
Eddie Rabbit "Driving my life away"
BTO "Let it roll(down the hiway)"

Can't believe nobody has said "Eastbound and Down" by Jerry Reed.
You can take the driver out of the truck but you cant take the truck out of the driver.

You are correct. Dave Dudley IMHO did the best version of 6 Days on The Road.

Eddie Rabbit's Drivin' My Life Away. was the one I was going for. OOPS.

Actually I was asking when he covered it. I went to Napster to see and did not find it. Eddie Rabbit was a great artist.
