Default Who has heard of this one

Back in June I got a warning ticket, not a citation, but a WARNING, in the state of Louisiana. And like most of us would think that was the end of it, fix the problem and get on down the road, right? Wrong, I came home last week and found a letter in the mail from LDOT and in that letter it said that I owe them for civil penitalies to the tune of $175.00. Now after some digging I find that the fine citation itself would have been cheaper. Also in this letter it states that if I do not pay that they will not let me drive though this wonderful state until I do pay it.

Now what kind of BS is this state pulling now. This kind of tells me that no matter what one way or the other they are going to get money from us.

Now I know why I am going back to school to get out of trucking.
Be safe and keep the shiny side up.

I have never heard of any state making you pay a fine for a warning. Then again I don't get around the country very much so maybe we have a few in our country that do charge you.

I'm Guessing it was a Fix It Ticket which means you get the problem Fixed and Verified and sent to the State and these things weren't responded to and that's a big no no. If this was the case basically you slapped in the face the Officer who gave you the warning And the Courts.

I've had those warnings as well. Get it fixed and have the problem checked by a state police officer in their jurisdiction or it WILL become a violation.

It was a warning on my logbook. I turned the warning into the company like I was suppose to.
