1 year ago I was sitting in a little truckstop in Clinton, Iowa next to the mississippi on the fourth. I treated myself to a Applebee's dinner right across the street and a cold brew then headed off to sit in my truck and watch the fireworks from the drivers seat. I would give anything to be there right now. When I was coming down from Auburn,CA to Sacramento today, I passed a lot of trucks heading towards Salt Lake and I and a lot of other people really appreciate all you guys spending your holiday on the road! Be safe everyone, watch out for those crazy people!

I don't remember where I was last year on the 4th! But, THIS year was memorable! I pulled into El Paso from the East, and because of the elevation, I could see fireworks going off ALL OVER the city! It was beautiful!

I stopped at the Petro in Horizon (exit #37) and there was a fireworks shed right next to the truckstop. People were buying them and then setting them off right there in the sand parking lot. Truckers were sitting on top of their cabs and watching. It was pretty cool!

I've always loved the view of a city at night, from an elevated position, but I've never seen one on the 4th before. Watching the starbursts coming from all quarters of El Paso, was a very "patriotic" moment!

You missed a good time, Bulldog!!

A few years ago I was in the southeast somewhere when I pulled into a rest area that sat on top of hill. The truck parking area faced the road and you could see 3 small towns in the "valley". I sat there and watched the show from all 3 towns. Best fireworks display I have ever seen.
Finding the right trucking company is like finding the right person to marry. I really comes down to finding one whose BS you can put up with and who can put up wih yours.

Hey hobo, actually I watched the fireworks at the water park on the westside just off of the Anthony exit 0, I'm sure you know where. Catch me on the next run...

I just had a nice thought. Every 4th since the beginning of my career, I've been right in the same place. Home. I've never run on the 4th once that I remember. Not during the day anyway. I used to have to leave out at night.

I watched them from my bedroom window lying in bed.
