Default Hello, this is a great site, and I'll tell you why!

I really like this site, I've learned a lot in the few days I've been here.

First, a little about myself. I live in Pennsylvania and am 15 years old. It has been a dream of my mother's since she was very young to drive OTR, and I kind of "inherited" that. She wants us to go to a CDL/trucking school as soon as I graduate, then when I'm 21 she wants us to team drive. We've also considered having Dad and me team, then she'd go with Dad. Is that possible?

I've come to this site, and learned a lot about the business. I've also looked at different companies, and learned a lot about what to look for. This site has given me the ability to learn a lot about trucking. From what I've read, trucking really seams to be my kind of career. I was also considering being a diesel mechanic, and will be going through school for diesel, starting in August, but, thanks to this site, I've learned enough about trucking to once again consider it. Thanks for having this site and teaching me so much.

Ah dude think about this do you really want to be living in a truck with your mom when your 21?

I can understand wanting to get a CDL and all but not the driving with your mom or dad part.

My parents and I get along great. If it was possible, we'd all three go. I live with them as it is, have for the last 15 years. All the trucks I've ever seen have at least enough room for two people to sleep and one to drive. I've seen some that even have room for three people to sleep. They could sleep while I drive and vice-versa. As far as I'm concerned, I'll probably live with them until I'm 23-25 anyways. I have no problem living with my parents.

I always thought mack2 was older....lol I knew when I was 17 I would drive for a living, now look, 33 yrs later and I am still here....lol I would say to the younger posters here, educate yourselves FIRST. The world we live in these days has changed sense I was a LAD...lol I received a different education on the road, for me I would never have changed this, but times are different. A mind is a terrible thing to waste....lol Good luck on what ever you youngsters decide to do!!
