    *slaps Jackrabbit*

Hog is talking about real life. That's about as bad as me mistaking your wheat field comment for allergies.

Nope. I've had a lot of hours over the years to think about this, and I can't fathom any way to turn any of this into a job.

Technical writing is the easiest of these things to sell, so when I got laid off from my comfortable trucking gig, that's what I decided to do. I had no intention of driving a truck again, and gave away all my day-to-day trucker crap, including a brand new atlas.

I bought another brand new atlas the other day. I'm defeated. I have no dreams anymore. I dream only of getting enough of the bills kicked down to where I can afford a 60% pay cut without going bankrupt.

Maybe two more years, if I play the game well.

Then we can see about this part time trucking that's what I'd really rather be doing.

Though I really seem to have gotten away from it. I may have room to build a real layout when my kids move out, but not before then. I've had all my stuff packed away in a couple of boxes for years now. I've been thinking about dragging it out and putting it all on eBay, but I keep thinking maybe one day I will go back.

I guess one thing's for sure, and that's the fact that my old Badger Acuflex paint is bound to be worthless by now. I have a ton of that stuff out there. I spent an insane amount of money on the contents of two boxes. I think I got in over my head, and got too obsessed with superdetailing everything to perfection, instead of just running the damn trains.

My passion? Hmmmmm... Waving goodbye to my wife on the shore :P
When I get old, I move north and drive slow in the fast lane.

Hey, I forgot one. I invented this alphabet too, and made a TrueType font:

Damn but being me is pretty cool, if I do say so myself. I may not get to put much of me into my work, but I still lead an interesting life. Or I did before I got laid off, when I had a lot of time to play.

I'm going to have to get better at cramming more living into the narrower slices of time I have now.
