    Default Truckers Survey

    Hello everyone,

Ergonomics, convenience and safety. Just a few terms one could as-sociate with 'movement'.
We are two marketing students from the Netherlands who are employed by Accuride GmbH, a company that supplies 'ball bearing slides' appliances for use in the automotive sector.

Our job is to find out what kind of movement can be improved in and on a truck. Now what better way is there then to go directly to the source, you guys and girls! After all you are the people that make use of these products on daily basis.

Looking at the cabin, one could think of movement solutions in armrests, cabinets, sliding drawers, sliding refrigerators/microwaves ovens, the bed etc. etc. However we are also interested in your thoughts about movement solutions on the truck exterior. Examples could be sliding/moving solutions on the trailer. Our company is also interested in movement solutions that currently do not exist yet. So we encourage you to let your imagination soar!

We hope you can help us by filling is this small anonymous survey. It won't take much of your time and you will earn our gratitude. If you have any questions, we will be glad to answer them.

You can find the survey here: http://www.questionpro.com/akira/TakeSurvey?id=714973

    Much appreciated,

    Peter
    Chris

I don't know if this is actually spam.
    Looks like research.
We have had College people here before asking for input to design as well.
This is a study group of students...now this could be advantageous to us
    ...I don't know.

Personally, I wish all the manufacture Companies would ask Drivers
for their input. Some design just seems so stupid to me
...and had they solicited our input to begin with
...they could have made a better design.

When I have more time...I might check out this survey more.
    Hold my wallet...just in case.
oh...and my watch...better take my keys too. :?

Yeah, I think I'll let this one go. If anyone does the survey or sees anything that we would object to, you can let me know and we'll remove it. But from the posting, it looks like a legit survey.

Yes it’s research. We figured that the best way to figure out what is really needed in (or on) a truck is to ask the people who have to deal with these machines on a daily basis. We have some meetings planned with a couple of truck dealers too. Hopefully we will be able to gather some promising results and figure out how we can better cater the needs of the truck driver. Well, regarding movement solutions anyway.
If the survey came over as spam, our apologies. That is obviously not our intent.

Please if you have any questions regarding our research, don’t hesitate to ask.

We want to thank those of you have who already supplied us with their input and ask those who haven’t to fill in the survey.

    Again much appreciated,

    Chris

ChrisPeter, please accept my apology. I have a keen sense of humor. Which can be bad at times. :? We get a lot of spam here, and the one time that I crack a joke about a post, and the post is for real. :?
I meant nothing personal towards you. Please, welcome to the forum. Thank ya.

I echo roadhog's reply, that it is good to see folks like you to come to the pros, on things such as this.

    ChrisPeter,

You can tell them one thing for me: Quit putting the power point ( cigarett lighter ) just above the cup holder. I plug in my cell phone and my drink won't fit in the holder.
