Top 3-reasons the driver didn't stop at any point during the 1.5 mile fireworks show were:
#3. He had his i-tunes cranked and he thought the can-opener sound was part of the music.
#2. Tunnels...yikes! He gets claustrophobic in elevators and was thinking "How soon can I get out of here?"
#1. He wanted to make sure his next driving job was "No New York City".![]()
Poor guy. Looks like he totaled a newer trailer as well.

How do you NOT know what is happening?!?!?Mr. Cantu drove the entire 1.5 miles of the tunnel from Weehawken, N.J., to Manhattan, tearing his way under the Hudson River in the tunnel’s center tube and peeling back the roof of his tractor-trailer as if it were a tin can. No one was injured, but an undetermined number of decorative tunnel ceiling tiles were ripped off.
Holy Bejaggersnot, Batman!!
That one there is an absolute jaw-dropper.

He probably made history. The first 13'6 trailer (or formerly) to make it all the way though the tunnel to Manhatten :!:
There's no way to really make that happen.. the trailer wasn't 13'6" when it came out of the tunnelOriginally Posted by tahawus

UPDATE:
Well, the former driver has already found a new job; something about going to work for a company that repairs damaged tile in the New York Tunnells??
funny its exactly the same height as the tunnel......now :shock:There's no way to really make that happen.. the trailer wasn't 13'6" when it came out of the tunnel
