Default East Bound and Down: Smokey and the Bandit 30 Years Old!

With all the hype surrounding the move "Star Wars" (a great movie) 30th anniversary doesn't anybody realize that it was also 30 years ago that the greatest trucker movie ever made was brought to the silver screen? Yep, Smokey and the Bandit came out 30 years ago. And if it were remade who do you think would be perfect in the cast? 8)

Not possible to remake. It was said that Smokey and the Bandit captured lightning in a bottle. Hollywood would be foolish to even try to remake. I cannot even think of any of todays actors that would fit to play the parts.

it came out in 1977, according to my calendar, that's 30 years. I waited in line at the drive-in for an hour to see it.

I can see all of those, except for Robert Deniro. I don't think he could play it straight enough.

Unfortunately, if they ever did remake it, the new version would be NOTHING like the old version, which was chock full of sexism, racism, bigotry, abuse, etc. etc. etc.

Follow the youtube link for some Smokey and the Bandit fun...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqvLKdiVjqc

Whole lot more clips there also.

Does anybody actually know how many times they may have watched it?
One of the very few movies you can watch over and over again, and have fun and smile each time.

Smokey and the Bandit, The most fun you can have watching a movie
Smokey and the Bandit 2, OK movie but, doesnt come close to original
Smokey and the Bandit 3, Not even worth using the cd as a coaster

    "Redneck Heaven!!!"

I'm not sure what happened to the truck, Midnight Flyer. Both the truck, and trailer were cool.

No clue who was in it the first time, but my vote is for Sandra Bullock, Carmen Diaz, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Kirsten Dunst.

Especially if they're all butt nekkit and covert wit earl.
