New TV series

Has anyone seen the ads for the new TV series that will be on the History Channel? The title is Ice Road Truckers. Myself, I definitely will record and watch that one. The series starts on 6/17/07.
Here's a link to the show: http://www.history.com/minisites/iceroadtruckers As a side note - tonights (6/6/07) Mythbusters is Trucking Myths. The 2 parts of the show I saw were about exploding truck tires and drafting a truck to get better fuel mileage.

Yeah, saw that special also kilog. Saw another, don't think it was the same one.
Drafting to get better fuel milage?? Of course it works, just try to convince the cops that when they pull you over for tailgating. I have drafted trucks in my younger and dumber days. I had one that I had to stay on the brakes to keep from running into the back of him. We were sitting on 87 mph and my foot was off the gas completely for about 5 miles and I was gaining speed every now and then. Guess the wind was at my back those times. 8) Helped that I was in a 1990 Honda Civic Hatchback. Those little things could draft anything. Doesn't work so well in my '99 S-10.Bet they decide it is too dangerous to be trying with the buffeting wind right before you hit the "sweet spot" along with highly illegal with how close you have to be. Also depends on the size of the vehicle your in. |
