Default I got a letter from my former employer

    Dear: Me

Upon review your payroll ran negative. Please remit balance before July 31, 2007.

Your prompt attention to this notice will avoid this account from being sent to collection.

    Sincerely,

    former employer

Dates worked: July to August, 2005 (there's your first clue something is fishy)

This is a final notice as apparently the previous attempts to contact me were not forwarded by the post office. I moved on December 4th and it seems as if the post office has started forwarding again!

My response in form of a registered letter:

    May 24, 2007
    Re: FINAL NOTICE

    To whom it may concern,

I am writing to request a complete explanation of the FINAL NOTICE letter dated May 9, 2007 concerning a negative payroll due.

I have called your office twice and left messages without any reply. This letter is the first I have heard of this matter, even though there have been two tax cycles since I worked for 'former employer'

Until I receive a full explanation and detailed accounting of where this negative payroll issue is apparent, I will not send any payment. Your letter is most vague.

You can contact me at xxx.xxx.xxxx between the hours of 9:00 am and 10:30 am Monday, Tuesday and Friday. I am available at the same number any time of the day on Wednesday and Thursday.

    Regards,

    Me

This should turn out well, no doubt.

:? Unfortunately, I can only observe the spiralling deficits, as this is above my pay grade.

But I will be happy to watch with interest. 8)

Colin: I believe you are handling it properly AT THIS POINT. However, I would not have been so kind. I would have threatened legal action if they in ANY way endangered MY credit by sending this delinquent affair to collection! I would have ensured them that I would call their accountant, AND the IRS agent handling their company returns as witnesses in my lawsuit. I might also use the word "racketeering," and threaten to involve the RICO statutes. I would also mention Mail Fraud, and threaten to call the Post Office as a witness.

Just out of curiosity, did you move in Dec of 05? Or 06?

Also, is there any truth to their claim? Did you take an advance that didn't get deducted from your last check? This is something you should know.

If it turns into another Ruby Ridge, let me know! I'll buy a gun illegally, and come help defend you!!

    K-9!!!

    1) It was a comment on how easy it is to BUY a gun illegally because of the steadfast opposition to gun control by the Rep/Con/NRA types!

    2) It was also a sign of my discontent with the gestapo tactics of this administration.

    3) Once you start calling the government as a witness against their big business allies, you better expect an attack!

    4) I am NOT against gun ownership! I am against people who won't regulate the availability of massive firepower, that is usually used to kill innocents, because they FEAR the supposed gestapo tactics of the administration they support!

    5) Although, I don't "currently" own a gun, if and when push comes to shove, I will arm myself accordingly, and fight valiantly against ANY oppressor, whether foreign OR domestic!

    6) In the meantime, I will continue to contend that you don't need an UZI to kill a deer, the proliferation of handguns in this country is DIRECTLY related to the number of lethal crimes, and "accidents," and the ILLEGAL firepower of criminals has cost us millions in training and arming of our "police forces."

    7) And that ALL of these societal problems are DIRECTLY related to the availability of firearms which the conservatives REFUSE to help us curtail.

Other than THAT.... I LOVE the feel of a sleek 30/30 in my hands! ESPECIALLY when I know it doesn't HAVE to be fired!

But, make no mistake..... I have NO compunction to firing a weapon in self-defense! I'll kill a jackboot and spit on him before he dies!

I moved in December of 2006.

Any truth? I don't know. It was 22 months ago! I think I was only paid twice during the time I was there.

I imagine now I'll find out since I'm asking for the info.

No offense taken, K-9!! Just thought you were a bit surprised!!

Besides, I needed another excuse to warn certain types that the overthrow of the "liberal" masses won't come without casualties on their side!

As evidenced in Iraq, the worst mistake the neo-cons have made is to "underestimistake" their enemy!

I'm sure it's too late, but I'm trying to let them know, that they are not the ONLY ones who know how to shoot a gun!

Over 3000 American soldliers have paid the price for that miscalculation! And the worst part is that about 2,000 of them learned it after Dubya thought the mission was "accomplished!"

On this Memorial Day, I pay tribute to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for this and ALL wars! But, this year, my pride is overshadowed by my TEARS for those who have died for a cause that only 30 years of our future will, in some way, justify.

Yes, K-9... he IS my president. In the post-Nixon era, I would feel better if I believed he was the popular choice of Americans. But, nevertheless, if I were in uniform, I would fight for the policies and military objectives he somehow "stumbled" upon!

I would KILL the enemy with every ounce of my WASTED life! But, with my dying breath, I would cast my VOTE against HIM and his type!

There IS NO future to WAR, but more WAR! The ABSENCE of War is not capitulation and ruin! There is only ONE path to peace! And I pray that every dead American soldier is a stepping stone to that end.

If ONE country dominates the world militarily and philosophically, is that peace? If not, then what would be the alternative? And HOW, by the grace of God, do we get THERE???

Personally, I agree with some of the ideas of both "sides". On some issues, I agree with you, others I do not. I do not affiliate myself with either "side". My fiancee and I vote according to our beliefs, and opinions, not by "party affiliation". We like to say, "Let's agree, that we disagree on some things." Anyways, enough about me, sorry to hijack the thread.

Carry on! I'll get back to what I was doing....

I'm not sure you know what you are talking about. What are you talking about. I bet, because I am a FFL, I know more about this topic than you ever will.

Ruby Ridge did not happen during the Bush Admisistration.

Why aren't you against the people misusing guns. After all a firearm is an inanimate object, a tool, no more no less. I could do as much damage with the guns you want to keep legal as I can with an "assault weapon." You want to ban them for cosmetic features, such as a bayonet lug. When did you last hear of a drive by bayonetting?

    5) Although, I don't "currently" own a gun, if and when push comes to shove, I will arm myself accordingly, and fight valiantly against ANY oppressor, whether foreign OR domestic!
It might be too late by that time.

The right to keep and bear arms has nothing to do with hunting. In every State that has "legalized" concealed carry, crime has gone down significantly. A reasonable conclusion is to arm more citizens.

    7) And that ALL of these societal problems are DIRECTLY related to the availability of firearms which the conservatives REFUSE to help us curtail.
There are no statistics on the matter, nevertheless, I am willing to bet guns prevent far more crime than crime commited by people with guns.

What good is a hammer that never hits a nail? It's a tool, use it accordingly. Your problem should be with the people who misuse the tool, not the tool.

Thanks for your support! But, be prepared to SURVIVE!

I passed ALL my survival training classes. I learned quickly to think outside the box. They told me we must stay on THIS side of the road! I thought, WHY?? If the enemy is looking for you on THIS side of the road.... cross the friggin ROAD!! What have you got to lose???

I was hiding under a fallen tree when "they" came and shouted out authoritatively, "We SEE you, you might as well come out!" 3 future Schneider truckers came out of the bushes they were in! I continued to lie still (keeping my co-driver still with me!)

They left, and 2 hours later, so did WE! I crawled in creeks to hide my footprints, I covered myself with dirt! I stared them down when they THOUGHT they "saw" me! I refused to be caught unless they drug me out of the dirt!

I realized that they had been trained to "trick" us, and I wasn't falling for it! I made it to the safe zone, 3 hours after they had given UP!! They didn't even know WHO I was, or how I'd gotten there!

On another "outing" we were supposed to construct "natural" hiding places in which to sleep. I awoke, fully rested, the next morning to one of "them" standing not more than 5 feet from my shelter, calling my name! HE said it was all over, and we needed everyone to come out so we could move ON with the exercise.

I scared the heck out of him when I came out.

Point is.... I don't TRUST anything the "enemy" says! I know the truth... and I will act on it to save my life!

There are many on this board who "give themselves up" to whatever their party says. Most of them, you will find, drive for (or recruit for) one of the Major Carriers.

They cannot be blamed for being "average." Most people, including the executive branch, ARE!!! But, as I have said many times.... Average people will get you KILLED everytime!

I REFUSE to be "average." I refuse to be "caught and killed" without a fight! I refuse to surrender my Constitutution to those who would ammend it without even understanding it!

And I absolutely refuse to surrender my intelligent thought to those who find such to be "anti-American!"

Um... that was a bit dramaatic! So, I'll excuse you if you don't want to stand by me in combat! But, I DO have a sense of humor about it!

After all.... Dubya has made a JOKE of our constitution, and I can't help but LAUGH at those who continue to support him!

BTW.... I can equally laugh at those who vote strictly on Democratic party lines! They are NO MORE intelligent! Just better looking!

I am! I was a 19D Cav Scout, and spent 9 months in the Sunni Triangle, from Al Fallujah to Baghdad and everywhere in between. More than once, only a quick decision between life and death. Not sure if you know exactly what we do, but the average lifespan of a Cav. Scout, after they been "spotted", is 6 seconds. I believe, only a sniper has a smaller one.

You're absolutely RIGHT, I apologize for forgetting that men YOUNGER than me are STILL fighting in nasty wars! One of my best friends is a forward Air Controller (or was!)

I can only say that the low survival times are due to average troops being inducted into that particular mos! But, those who survive, are above average! This is what I mean!

Nevertheless, I again apologize if I in any way made myself to sound superior to those who face these kinds of trials everyday in this horrible war!

I received the BEST training available at the time I served. I excelled at it. But, I never got a chance to put it into practice. Since my training was mostly geared towards how to avoid being broken during interrogation, I am glad that I did not have to go through it.

You, K-9, and ANY other American Soldier, would be WELCOMED by my side at ANY time! I assure you that I will not let YOU down! And I know I can expect the same from all / any of YOU!

And again, on this Memorial Day, lets raise a toast to those who've paid the ultimate price so that we can sit here and talk about it!

I'm at HOME today, looking out over my sun parched lawn! I don't kow where YOU are, K-9, but I know one thing.... wherever you are, you are looking out at America! And for every dust clod ON it, we true Americans THANK YOU for your service!

How old/young are you? Also, how old do u think I am? Hint - If you didn't already know, I joined late in life.

    1) It was a comment on how easy it is to BUY a gun illegally because of the steadfast opposition to gun control by the Rep/Con/NRA types!

I'm not sure you know what you are talking about. What are you talking about. I bet, because I am a FFL, I know more about this topic than you ever will.
Well, I haven't got a clue what an FFL is, unless it's a Full Fledged Lunatic, or a Fairy ***got Liberal! That's the extent of my guessing! But, I was talking about, and it is accepted knowledge, that guns are easier to buy becuase of the NRA's opposition to such things as a 7 day waiting period, the "overlooking" of Ghost Buyers, the repeal of the assault weapons ban, etc., etc., ....

    2) It was also a sign of my discontent with the gestapo tactics of this administration.

Ruby Ridge did not happen during the Bush Admisistration.
Wow... aren't you smart! Did I SAY it DID??? In fact, let's look at the record. Under the Clinton Administration MORE was done to crack down on "militant" groups with heavy arms, than BUSH has ever done. Which might explain why there are so many sleeper cells of Islamic terrorists in America today.

    3) Once you start calling the government as a witness against their big business allies, you better expect an attack!

    4) I am NOT against gun ownership! I am against people who won't regulate the availability of massive firepower, that is usually used to kill innocents, because they FEAR the supposed gestapo tactics of the administration they support

See, there you go lumping ME with those who you object to. I haven't said a word about "bayonetting" and really couldn't care LESS! I AM against those who misuse guns, such as letting felons own one. You have NO IDEA what guns "I" would keep legal, but let's just say I don't believe you could do as much damage with a single shot 410 as CHO did with a glock and a ***** gun! And any claim by you "otherwise" would be disengenous, and a slap in the face of the grieving families in Virginia! AS IF you care!

    5) Although, I don't "currently" own a gun, if and when push comes to shove, I will arm myself accordingly, and fight valiantly against ANY oppressor, whether foreign OR domestic!

It might be too late by that time.
This is a stupid argument. You think that you must arm yourselves NOW, because your OWN elected government might keep you from getting them later. They haven't kept ANYONE from getting them! If the time comes, there will STILL be plenty of "illegal" guns, thanks to the NRA, for me to buy, steal or whatever! Hell, I bet I can show up on YOUR "compound doorstep" and get more guns than I can carry!

The right to keep and bear arms has nothing to do with hunting. In every State that has "legalized" concealed carry, crime has gone down significantly. A reasonable conclusion is to arm more citizens.
NO? Then WHY does the NRA use this "hunting" ploy so extensively?? Could it be that they have a hidden agenda? And are just LYING??? I'm sorry, but I just can't buy this claim about the legal carry laws. Could it be that in those states, the law has cracked down? That Bush funded MORE policemen? There could be a dozen reasons.... but, of course, you focus only on ONE reason. The fact that one can legally carry a concealed weapon. And HOW MANY TIMES has that been a factor in stopping a crime??? Got any figures on THAT???

    7) And that ALL of these societal problems are DIRECTLY related to the availability of firearms which the conservatives REFUSE to help us curtail.

There are no statistics on the matter, nevertheless, I am willing to bet guns prevent far more crime than crime commited by people with guns.
I'll TAKE that bet!!! And there ARE statistics.... I just don't have them.

Other than THAT.... I LOVE the feel of a sleek 30/30 in my hands! ESPECIALLY when I know it doesn't HAVE to be fired!

What good is a hammer that never hits a nail? It's a tool, use it accordingly. Your problem should be with the people who misuse the tool, not the tool.
And it IS! But, the problem with those who misuse the tool, is the ease with which they can GET the tool! And the lethality of the tool they can GET!

But, make no mistake..... I have NO compunction to firing a weapon in self-defense! I'll kill a jackboot and spit on him before he dies!

Where were you during the Clinton Administration? Ruby Ridge, Waco, Miami.
Sitting in front of the T.V. watching my government clean up a mess that happened because NUTS were allowed to stockpile "assault weapons!"

I don't care HOW many guns (of less than assault capacity) YOU own, Terry. But, if you get a bunch of your friends together, start refusing to pay taxes, start stockpiling ONLY the most lethal "assault weapons" and talk TRASH about MY buddy Dubya..... I'm gonna think you are "subversive" and I'm gonna expect my government to "put you down!"

If, however, you're a law abiding tax paying citizen, and Dubya has spied on your phone conversations and heard you JOKE about putting him out of our collective "misery" and you are accosted by his Jackboots for no good reason..... then, I'm on your side!

    Wild K-9 asked:

How old/young are you? Also, how old do u think I am? Hint - If you didn't already know, I joined late in life.
Well, "Kid" if you haven't been paying attention, I've said many times that I am now FIFTY!!!

I've SEEN your picture, and I would guess "off hand" (because I'm too tipsy to get serious about it,) that you are no more than 33 nor less than 27.

Your hints are of no use, because, I can't tell WHICH Bush's WAR you might have been IN! There've been so MANY of them!

So, how'd I do?? Did I get close?

Yes, close. I guess I don't pay attention, although like I said earlier, I don't really join in OR pay much attention to religious or political threads. As a matter of fact, I'm more into the "lighter" side of CAD.

Anyway, thank you for the compliment! (between 33 and 27) I just turned 36 on May 13th, yes, Mother's Day. What a wonderful present for Mom.

BTW - I was in the latest war. Was one of the first units deployed. Originally, the plan was to go down through Turkey, but that fell through. Stayed for almost 14 months, but 1st 2 months were spent in Kuwait, waiting for equipment and preparing. The last 2 months were "in country", but were at Al Asad airbase. What a resort compared to everywhere else I went. (really enjoyed swimming in all those pools Saddam had at his palaces)

WOW! Talk about getting off topic I know it is easy to do. Guilty of it myself many times. But let's try to get back on track here.

    Thanks,
