I am so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Midnight,
Your dad sounds like he completed the work he came to do. I hope your young ones are able to say about you the things you've said about him.
My prayers are with your mom, your family, and of course, you. From what you've said, it sounds like you were "filled" by his being in your life. Now, you bless others with that same greatness of spirit...by adding your own heart's gifts to it. That's the greatest farewell gift you can give him.

They're not "hot flashes"...they're POWER SURGES!
So sorry to hear about that Midnight.
My condolences to you, and your family in this sad time.
Sorry to hear of you lose MF.
Numbers 6:24-26
24 “The LORD bless you and keep you;
25 The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
26 The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.”’
On the edge of sleep, I heard voices behind the door
The known and the nameless, familiar and faceless
My angels and my demons at war'
At war...
'Which one will lose depends on what I choose
Or maybe which voice I ignore...'
Wilderness of mirrors
Streets of cold desire
My precious sense of honor
Just a shield of rusty wire
I hold against the chaos
And the cross of holy fire
Wilderness of mirrors
So easy to deceive
My precious sense of rightness
Is sometimes so naive
So that which I imagine
Is that which I believe

So sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers for you and your family, I have been there also and I know what you are going through now, but the pain will go away and you will only remember the good memories you had of your father,
Sorry to hear about your loss. He will always be alive in your heart and in the fond memories you and your family have of him.
I converse with a pastor in India at times and one time he told me he lost his mother but the way he put it was not that he lost his mother but that his mother went to her glory on that day. I had never heard anyone put it the way he did.
Goin Fer It's Wife
Sorry for your loss...... I lost many of my heros over the years and what seems like such a tragic loss was eased by my father when my mom died a few months back.
He said we all are part of the circle of life, Our grandparents die to give our parents the chance of wisdom and nurturing as we will step up someday and take our final bow in our spot in that circle of life. We have to let our heros go in life so we can become what they meant to us and we too can become heros to our kids and grandkids. Its not what you have or own in life that makes you successful, its how many lives you have touched.
Your daddy has no more pain and he can finally rest and not worry about you and your family. He gave you what you need to succeed and now its your turn in that cycle of life.
I'm so sorry, MF! I don't know what more I can say, but that I KNOW that each sunRISE will bring you one day closer to being at peace over this. And I hope each sunSET will give you a moment to pause and reflect on how blessed you were to know him.
Remember the poem(?) called "Footprints"??
Look closely at the sand and I believe you just MIGHT recognize those prints. Your dad has not left you.

"I am willing to admit that I was wrong." The Rev.
If only we all were to be this lucky. To have a child feel this way about his Dad. He sounded like a great man, and an even better Father.
Peace and comfort to your family.
Stay strong Midnight Flyer
My condolences to you and your family.

Its hard losing a parent. I got a call from my dad about 2 months ago when my Mom had a stroke and I was 2000 miles away.
Stay strong Flyer, its a shame you had to go through such a hardship before i did![]()
Mud, sweat, and gears
Sounds like you had a great dad!
Good, bad, or indifferent, our dad will always be one of our heros--if not the greatist hero. May those of us who are dads (same goes for moms) continue to realize the impact and influence we have on our kids....
Teary eyes for you Midnight Flyer.
May our Father in heaven grant you and yours...great, long lasting memories and peace.
Anything worth living for is worth dying for.
