I doubt he was out of his league. The local red engine shop routinely sends him stuff to figure out as they can not.

As to a blind folowing - yep they have their fans and a Pete isn't for everyone but people who have problems with Petes - well more like their mechanic is out of their league.

If a mechanic has difficulty working on one truck and not another, it is likely his level of competency. Most trucks have the same engines and drive trains. It should not matter whether they are a Peterbilt or International. I have had a couple of mechanics tell me that they prefer working on Peterbilts because it is easier to get to the engine due to the long hood.

Maybe I wasn't as clear as I should have been.

He had no difficulty with the cornbinder - only that the Pete seemed to be easier to work on and put together better, systems and components laid out in such a way that made more sense from a service stand point.

I have driven both to also include KW and Western Star - for me as a driver the Pete was the best and INT the worst.

We have some Internationals in our fleet at Roadway. I would rather drive one of our old 90's model Freightliners with no power steering than drive an International. I prefer the Volvo's.
