    Default Xm problems

    5/21 Service Degredation

You may be experiencing temporary degraded performance with your XM reception at the present time. XM is aware of the issue and working diligently to resolve it as soon as possible. We anticipate full signal strength will be restored by early Tuesday morning.

I thought there was something wrong with mine today till I found this on XM in case anyone else was wondering I guess it is something they did.... lol

I hear it was interplanitarian cat's. They got mad because they couldn't hear Opie and Anthony on XM202 because they were suspended for 30 days so they decided to take out XM1.

Was wondering the same thing. I got terrible reception today. Every 20 to 30 seconds my radio would completely cut out for 1-2 seconds. Thought it might be my antenna.

Are you willing to die to take them away from me?

you know I had the same problem. I thought someone was tampering with my antenna. It's good to know that it's them and not me!

The FCC is probably making XM shut down some of their repeaters. XM won't tell you that but seems odd all the sudden they are having problems when just a couple months ago this was a problem. Glad I canceled!!

XM Satellite Radio Gets FCC Letter With Inquiry About Terrestial Repeater Network

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Federal Communications Commission is asking XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. for information on its terrestrial repeater network, the company said Thursday.

The repeaters supplement the satellite radio signal, ensuring that the service works even when direct line of sight to the satellite is obscured.

XM wants approval to continue running the network, but the characteristics of some repeaters differ from the data submitted to FCC when it originally approved the system, XM said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

The Washington-based company has met with FCC staff about the matter and got an inquiry letter from the agency on Feb. 15, the filing said.

The filing didn't say what information the FCC requested in the letter.

The could fine XM or force it to change its repeaters, which could harm the service, according to Thursday's filing.

XM broadcasts more than 170 channels of music, news, sports and children's programming directly to cars and homes. It recently announced plans to merge with competitor Sirius Satellite Radio Inc.

Sirius leans too far to the left in their programming choices to suit me.

I'm going to use a Cluggy line......

Disclaimer:As you know I am a disgruntled former satellite radio user!!!!

Karmazin: "We suck less" than XM

Karmazin also defended Howard Stern's $500 million pay package signed with Sirius in 2004, saying: "He earned it."

    BUT.....

Mel Karmazin isn't very happy about the stock price of Sirius,

Yeah, so let the two company's that SUCK merge so they can rape customer's with absorbent subscription fee's.

I say screw satellite radio and buy an IPOD!
