Why? It's no different than every other aerodynamic truck out there. In fact, it is a cross between the aerodynamic versions of all the major manufacturers.

I don't get this hoopla over this truck - what is so outrageous about it?

Well... I drive an 06 Freightliner Columbia, and I think this is an improvement. The lights are no different. The hood mirrors are less obstrusive.

It certainly looks better than the newer Petes!!

The color, of course, is optional, but I like it. Overall, it reminds me of the head on my Labrador Retriever. And HE was a pretty dog!

The Coronado is a pretty truck, but this is almost as good! Puts ANY Kenworth ("anteater") to shame, and ANY Volvo!

I can't wait to GET one!!

I STILL like the looks of a 379 Pete, but, since I can't drive one anytime soon, THIS will do!

Okay, Hoggie.... let's see a pic of YOUR truck! You know.... the one you can't stand UP in! I don't have to lay on my bunk to change my pants! Midroof Pete's are "quaint," but not very practical for today's drivers.

    NOT ONE BIT!!

I just pictured you in a 379!! Don't TELL me you drive that ugly 387!!

No WONDER you're so jealous of this new FL!!

Fact is.... I'm a "company man." So, I drive what they buy. I'm just hoping that next year, they'll buy this NEW one (or Coronados!)

Don't worry, Hoggie. Contrary to your normal postings, I KNOW you're not a BBR!!

One of THEM wouldn't be caught dead with an APU!!

Seriously though, with all your "img" aptitude.... I'd have thought I would have seen a pic of YOUR truck by now! What's the holdup???

Oh.... BTW.... I saw your relatives last week! They were blissfully unaware and sniffing butts in the back of a "bull hauler." Well.... I guess they don't ALWAYS haul bulls, eh?

I figured the FAT one was your sister, right?

Oh, Jeez.... that just ain't right!!

Yeah...sucks big time being stuck with a bubble-truck.
 I hate bubble-trucks....no matter what brand or model.
    They all suck.

All in good fun about the Freightliner. I have driven all the models and actually do like the Classic XL...in a mid-roof. I hate ALL condo units.

I did drive mostly a real...real sweet 379. I lost it to another Driver when I had to go get some surgery done. When I came back...I ran our Renegade Classic XL...and one of our KW W-900's. Then I took off to care for my Mom, before she passed away. I was off work for 4 months. When I came back to work, they stuck me in this '07 387. (they bought 4 of these with the Cummins ISX 600 10-spd.) It is better than most Freightliners. They all have APU's and go like a raped Ape. As a Company Driver myself...I drive what they give me.

My Boss loves me though. If I ask for a "certain" truck...he'll get it for me. He'd get me any truck I want. I am going to ask for a 389 toward the end of August. I may ask for another 50' spred too. I miss that Trailer a lot.

Truth be told. I care most about the Trailer...anyway. For me...it's all about the Trailer. I want one of those new Great Danes with the axle scale mounted in the back....and the digital temp readout.
    I like the 53' tandems...but my dream Trailer would be a 50' spred....hitched to a 270" 389.

About the photos. Yeah...I don't know why I don't take more photos of my crap...my pets...me...etc. I gotta start doing that.

I will ...but you won't wanna see photos of my Pete's. I swear... :P ...you will throw rocks at your stinkin' Freightliner's afterward. :P

IMHO - similar to 4 wheelers, trucks are starting more and more to look alike.

I think its great looking....then again, Im not a driver. I think the coolest looking trucks are the cabovers in europe, so what do I know?
They seem to touting the aerodynamics and the fuel mileage. Personally, I would think no matter what the truck looks like, if it gets better fuel mileage, that would make it a great truck. However sometimes it seems that drivers would rather look cool than get better mileage.
Wait...I might be guilty of that too. My jeep looks cool, but I maybe get 10mpg on a good day. I guess we can all be guilty of things like that.

If my company bought them and said I could drive it, I probably would. It's gotta be better than the '01 I'm in now. I think it's a pretty good looking Freightliner. Not as good as a Coronado, but better than the Columbia.
