As of midnight(G.M.T) I got my licence back. Don,t think I,ll ever go back on heavy haul or European work, just piss around the doors and make half decent money but, boy oh boy, its good to be back.

Reached 12 points under "totting up" procedure mate. At the time, my Dad had cancer and I shouldn,t have been on the road really. My mind was elsewhere. Never mind, its all behind me now. Studying towards an LLB and gonna drive part time.
Alls well that ends well eh?

You know, you,re one of a dying breed?
Brit driver still doing Europe. Can,t be many left now; frigging Betz and Hungarocamion paid to that eh?
My last trip must have been about 18 months ago now, and even then, I only got as far as Rotterdam! Simplonpass and T Forms are just a distant memory now.
Best of British to you mate, keep flying our flag.

Been looking up British Licence Laws Bro....Nice loophole which may allow you to drive trucks in U.K without having to take a British H.G.V.
Gonna look into it further today.
    I,ll keep you posted

    From DVLA website
You may drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes and with up to eight passenger seats, provided your full licence or driving permit remains valid for up to 12 months from the date of coming to GB. However, you may only drive large vehicles which have been registered outside GB and which you have driven into the country.

See the potential Bro? Now say, should the Netherlands or another E.E.C country recognise an American CAD, then you could apply to drive for one of the many companies based there that do U.K work and legally enter U.K driving an artic. Also a point of interest, a Canadian licence IS recognised in the U.K and can be instantly exchanged.
I,m still looking to see how this can be done, but I,m sure its better than spending the $5000 it would take to get a British HGV.
    Where there,s a will......

very true mate , the last eastern europe trip i did last year i went for over a week without seeing another brit , i saw a few brit and irish registered trucks but all driven by poles and other east drivers . its a shame but i think euro work for brits its just about f@@*ed , i do specialist work , for insurance companies going all over europe picking up crashed and stolen cars , i too got out of the general game , too much push push . when i do a spainwhich is normally a 2 week round trip i only see a handfull of brit trucks apart from the removal boys

Can,t compete can we? Lets face it, You or I would not drive to Slovenia and back for £200! These Europeans will, and they,ll double man it too!
We should start a web-site naming and shaming all those Britsh companies that let True British drivers go and start Polacks in their place.
    Errrrrmmm Lets see
    A.R.R.CRAIB
    BORDERS TRNSPORT
    CLARKES
    DHL
    E.E.D
    FRANCIS TRANSPORT........................

Second thoughts, it,ll be easier to start a list of British companies not employing Polacks and Bulgarians

    Errrrrrrrrm Lets see

    None!!!!!
