    Default Lost fuel cap!...

The other day I forgot to screw the fuel cap on tightly enough on the sweeper, and the next day when I returned to the pump, I found it missing! I do not know where it is, so I stuffed a rag (which has gotten diesel on it due to it splashing a bit on bumps) so maybe it will keep dirt and rainwater out. (It's parked under a shelter, but the rain could get in if the wind was blowing in the right direction.)

Is there a website where I can order a new fuel cap? Is there some sort of a serial # somewhere on the fuel tank so that I can use that to determine what size the cap should be? Thnx. :x

measure the outside diameter of the threads and go to the hardware store and get a pipe end that fits that size pipe. just look and see if the the threads are coarse or fine and get the pipe end to match

Thanks. The diameter is half the length from one side of the hole to the other and the radius would be the entire length, right? (Been awhile since I brushed up on my math ) Would it be best to just lay a ruler across the top?

Nope radius is from center to the outer edge. Diameter is the entirewidth. Circumference is the all the way around it.

You also have Pie r squared = area inside the circle.

These barjan products are normal truckstop fair.. you could also stop at most any dealer and pick one up, but they usually are dearly priced!!!

Yep. Not born, but raised. :P Ya drive for Maverick, or Combined-Transport? :P Those 2 always run ads in the paper for glass haulers. Sounds like a sweet deal.

Only problem is, it's the street sweeper I lost it on, and it's fuel cap is different from all the others.

Ahh ok. Not bad. I've seen pneumatics in PPG.

Well they only look like pneumatics.. its all gravity doing the unloads, the whole load is gone in about 10 minutes (if that)...
