Default The passing of a great truck driver, father and Marine.

It is with great sadness that we must pass on the news of the passing Dave Kinzel, better known as KIND3 or the driver of the MIA/POW truck. Dave has been with J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. for almost 20 years and well on his way of achieving that 3 Million Mile Safe Driving Record.

Dave passed away yesterday afternoon at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Arkansas. We will all miss those flame suspenders, smile, that twinkle in his eye and his stories everytime he would visit us in corporate.

He was a great father, a proud Marine and the kind of truck driver every driver out there should strive to be.
    He will truly be missed.

Not having BEEN a Marine, I don't suppose I'm "allowed" to say Semper Fi!

But, God can! And I'm sure he did!

Sounds like a heck of a man! I hope someone keeps his wheels rolling for him! Do you have any links to info/memorial for him on your website? There are too few Americans out there STILL "dedicated" to the MIA/POW's!

Im sure we will have a memorial on our website eventually, its not up yet.
What was really amazing about the guy was how loved he was at corporate. I dont think there is a person in these two huge buildings that didnt know the guy personally. He was definately our number 1 driver.
Strange that not too long ago when he was here for JBs Funeral (He lead the funeral procession in that truck), he said to me, "after im gone, they told me that they will retire "Rolling Thunder"( His truck) I didnt think much of it....in fact I thought he was talking about retireing...I cant help but think now that he might have known his health was not so good.

I don't know where your corp HQ is, but.... if they DO retire his truck, I hope they put it right out front by the interstate, maybe on a short pedestal, so all of us can see it when we drive by! It's a beautiful truck! And I'd hate to see it "stored" in the back lot somewhere.

I wish MORE companies felt about their drivers the way y'all felt about him. And I wish more drivers deserved it!

Let me know when you've got a link to share. God bless him and his family.

My thoughts and prayers are with his immediate and extended professional families. I remember reading about him and his truck and thinking he and my dad were from the same generation of PROUD truckers. Have a cup of coffee up there for me too Gentlemen Truckers! RIP
