1. I think the response Obama gets when he visits Europe pretty well rebuts that.
You should be worried about losing our entire way of life. This group is doing more damage to this country than the terrorists have since 9/11.
2. This statement is so laughably false and downright idiotic I don't even know where to start.
What they want is control and power. All they will do with healthcare is increase costs and lower quality. If you look at the current medicaid program they are already limiting the number of prescriptions someone can receive. National healthcare works if you are not chronically ill. For those who have severe health problems they will see their healthcare diminish. Their interest in the environment again has more to do with power and control than anything else. It is simply another way to tax the American public. Just wait until they get some of these new laws put into effect. Every truck owner and driver will be affected. Fuel prices will rise dramatically. If you look at most of what these people have done since in office, it has everything to do with power and control and little to do with actually helping this country. One other thing. You can expect a big tax increase to pay for this "FREE" healthcare program.

3. Bush/Cheney didn't want control and power?
We spend a greater % of our GDP on health care than any other nation on the planet, save Switzerland, which has an older population and provides a much higher level of care. All of the nations that have "Socialist" health care systems also have healthier citizens, when measured by almost any metric (life expectancy, infant mortality etc.). They manage to achieve this at a lower cost, largely because 30% of our health care costs end up in the pockets of the insurance industry. We live in a global economy. We cannot afford to spend such a huge percentage of our GDP on health care. We need that money to fund education, research and infrastructure if we want to remain economically competitive. Obama understands this, apparently you do not, or maybe you're investing all the excess profits from your trucking business in health insurance company stocks.
Something else most people don't seem to understand is that it's almost impossible that our health care costs in the U.S. could actually increase from where they are now. For example, under our current system a great deal of basic primary care gets delivered in emergency rooms, which is about the least cost-effective way to do it. Our overall cost of health care would almost certainly be lower if everyone had access to free basic primary care, no matter how that access was funded.
"Free" health care does not exist. Obama knows this, please show me where he has ever promised anyone "free" health care. Under any alternative health care plan what would change is how those costs are allocated. What you get with universal coverage is a situation where every citizen pays into one pool and the costs of everyone's care is drawn from that pool. The risk is allocated evenly throughout the entire society, you won't be denied basic treatment, and you will never lose your coverage. If you have insurance through your job, the pool is a lot smaller and if you lose your job, you lose your coverage. If you need health care after you lose your job either you pay for it yourself (all the risk is allocated to you) or you get help from Medicaid (the risk is allocated among all taxpayers).
You seem to be really good at throwing out these blanket statements without being able to substantiate any facts behind them. Please show me what higher taxes you are personally facing.
